Ripple Ridge Lace Knit Stitch Pattern
This Ripple Ridge Lace Knitting Pattern easily creates a beautiful and graceful texture. Similar to a vintage feather and fan, this stitch variation includes an added structure with garter ridges between each of the lacy rows.
An easy series of knitting techniques make an old shale lacy design with a wavy scalloped edge knitted with just one yarn color or alternating stripes.
Get your free printable knitting pattern and chart for both flat and in-the-round projects below. My lesson includes a video tutorial for extra help with the lace techniques.

Ripple Ridge Lace Texture Design
- Row Repeat: Knit up this lace texture in an 8-row repeat.
- Knitting Projects: A graceful pattern choice when designing blankets, scarves, and hats.
- Colorwork: Looks great knitted in one color or with color changes at the beginning of each pattern repeat.
- Lays Flat: Although the lace eyelets are within a stockinette texture, the garter stitch ridges give it more structure, allowing it to easily lay flat.
- Not Reversible: This is not a reversible pattern because the right side of the work displays the design, but the wrong (back) side does not.

Ripple Blanket Pattern
My new Mavericks Wave Blanket is a beautiful light and airy ripple design with alternating shades of colors. My inspiration for this ocean wave design is Mavericks Beach, the famous surfing spot visible from my knitting studio in Half Moon Bay, California.
Select among six blanket sizes and have fun knitting up your new heirloom today.
Wet Blocking
Wet blocking your finished work is highly recommended, resulting in:
