Knitted Shawl Construction

The mesh pattern creates tiny lace eyelets that allow air to flow through, providing ventilation. A perfect addition to my Summer Knit Series, the lightweight cotton yarn adds to the breathability for maximum comfort.

Styling Options

One of the great things about the Mesh Shawl is its versatility. The loose and airy mesh pattern adds a touch of whimsy to any ensemble.

It can be worn as a shawl, gracefully draping over your shoulders for an elegant and sophisticated appearance. Additionally, if you prefer a more casual look, you may style the shawl as a scarf. Simply wrap it around your neck, and it instantly becomes a chic accessory to complement your outfit.

Gauge + Size Modifications

Knitting Gauge in Mesh Lace Stitch Pattern

To Knit a Gauge Swatch in Mesh Lace, Cast On An Even Number of Stitches

  • If you wish to knit with different yarn weights, select a needle size about 3 sizes bigger than the yarn’s recommendation.
  • You may modify its size by continuing to increase until it is the width you wish for your shawl.

You may also simply bind off loosely in your favorite technique.

Step 5: Finishing

  • Weave In yarn ends
  • Wet-Block, pinning to size (recommended, but optional)
