How to Knit Easter Egg Softies

Create a charming Easter decoration with this beginner-friendly Softie Easter Egg knitting pattern. Follow these simple steps to complete your project:

Step 1: Cast On

  • Cast on 12 stitches using the Long Tail Method.
  • Divide the stitches evenly across three double-pointed needles (4 stitches per needle).

Step 2: Increase Rounds

Working bottom-up, begin the pattern to shape the egg base by knitting in-the-round with increase stitches.

Step 3: Knit the Body

Continue knitting all stitches for several rounds to build the body of the egg.

Step 4: Decrease Rounds

Shape the top of the egg by knitting with decrease stitches.

Step 5: Finishing

  • Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
  • Use a tapestry needle to thread through the remaining stitches.
  • Fill the egg with poly-fill stuffing.
  • Cinch the top closed, sew on a loop, and bind off.
  • Weave in any loose ends.

Now you have a quick knit Easter softie, perfect for adding a festive touch to your home or gifting to loved ones! Get your free printable pattern below.
