Yarn – Super Bulky Weight #6
Feel free to use any fiber and colors of your choice. My Blanket sample pictured was knit with Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. This yarn blend has the feel, warmth, and softness of wool with the easy care and washability of acrylic. Plymouth Yarn’s Encore Mega is another good choice for this project.
Samples pictured have been knit in Lion Brand colors:
- Fisherman (cream)
- Blossom (pink)
- Succulent (blue)
Knitting Needles
- Circular Knitting Needles Size 11 US (8.0 mm).
- We are using a smaller size of knitting needle than the yarn recommends so that we may knit a tighter weave for the bubble texture to pop.
- Although we are knitting a flat piece, the length of a circular needle is ideal to easily hold all of your stitches.
- Select your blanket size first (see 6 sizes below) to determine the needle length required.
Knitting Tools
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
Optional: - Knitting Blocks and T-Pins
